We, House Foods Corporation, commit ourselves to contribute consumers' healthy dietary lifestyles by continuous offering valued products and services. In other words, we strive for realizing our corporate philosophy, "Bringing greater joy to every family with our products", playing our social role, "helping consumers experience good tastes and feel comfort, and even a sense of joy, in many situations as much as possible." No matter how family structure may change, and no matter how their dietary habit may be diversified, we believe that our social role will never be changed.

In order to fulfill this role, we are devoting ourselves to customer-oriented operations where we think and act from our customers' point of view so as to serve secure and reliable products giving the highest priority to the safety and quality of our products.

For over the next ten years, we shall drive for our goal to become "a company that creates new value by promoting healthy lifestyle for consumers through our tasty and high-quality products." We frame strategic business plan in every three years and presently execute it to achieve this goal. Fiscal 2009 is the starting year of our new three-year business plan. Within this new plan, three keywords, communicate, challenge, and seize, describe our mindset. We will communicate with all stakeholders and challenge to improve ourselves continuously by seizing opportunities to become the most trusted food company. Keeping these three keywords in our mind, we will reap a steady harvest from our business one after another.

To describe our business strategy, we define our mainstay business, such as curry, stew, spices and retort pouched foods business, as our core business. In this business category, we try to create new demand by attracting consumers with value-added new products. In our health foods business, which we define as our growing business, we activate our new product introduction maximizing technological synergy between House Foods and House Wellness Corporation so as to position this business to another core business in the near future. Among our overseas businesses, we are striving for the further expansion of our tofu business in the U.S., well-known among health-conscious consumers, and for the further penetration of Japanese-style curries into Eastern Asian market, with a focus on China.

As part of our corporate social responsibility, in addition to initiatives such as corporate governance, compliance, internal control, and environmental programs, we shall make our best effort to improve our quality assurance/management system to provide consumers with safe and secured food products.

I have assumed the President of House Foods Corporation as of April 2009, and our new management team has started. As a newly assumed President, I pursue our strategy to provide valued products in which quality and safety meet at the highest level. I believe that by doing this in sincere and consistent manner, we can achieve our goal; becoming the most trusted company that will be supported by stakeholders for many years to come.
